Session Seven ” Entrepreneurship and Opportunity Investment ” in the Seventh Session of the Qualification Program
As part of the comprehensive training program to qualify youth for climate work (2024), the seventh session was held on Thursday, June 12, titled “Entrepreneurship and Opportunity Investment” with entrepreneurship specialist Engineer Dua Al-Fraih.
Entrepreneurship is defined as the process of managing, organizing, and developing a project to achieve specific goals, driven by an individual’s desire and ability, characterized by creativity.
Engineer Dua Al-Fraih, an entrepreneurship specialist and head of the iPARK business incubator in Aqaba, Jordan, began by emphasizing that “entrepreneurial projects, at various levels, are always effective if they provide a solution to a problem or add a creative touch that enhances the community.”
She added that an entrepreneur should always leverage personal and social relationships to benefit their project and use technology to achieve their goals.
According to Al-Fraih, “80% of entrepreneurial ideas depend on the individual’s confidence in their concept, the belief of the team in the work, and the availability of personal skills, whether for the idea owner, the team, or partners.”
She highlighted the importance of identifying the resources needed to seize opportunities, verifying acceptance criteria, studying community needs based on existing problems, consulting experts, relying on strong ideas, expanding networks, and focusing on specialization without spreading oneself too thin across multiple fields.
Additionally, she stressed the necessity of preparing a management plan to define the tasks of those involved and the activities they will undertake, along with creating a financial plan to outline project requirements and costs, while focusing on human resources.
The comprehensive program to qualify youth for climate work (2024), launched by the National Forum for Environment and Sustainable Development in partnership with Jerash University in Jordan, the Arab Youth Network for Sustainable Development, and the Aman Initiative in Jordan, is the first training program of its kind in the Arab arena.
